How It Works

Step 1.

Once your order is placed, I'll send you a wax impression kit with everything you need to capture your impression.

Step 2.

Follow the easy step-by-step instructions to take your impressions using the soft jeweller's wax provided.

Step 3.

Check that your finished impression looks crisp and clear, then return your wax using the pre-paid label.

Step 4.

Through lost-wax casting, I'll transform your unique wax impressions into a beautiful piece of forever jewellery.

Don't Have Time to Receive a Wax Kit?

Sometimes time is incredibly limited. If you can't wait for one of my wax impression kits to arrive, don't worry. I can often create jewellery from alternative types of impressions, provided they capture enough detail.

1. Silicone Putty (Best Option)

Silicone putty captures excellent detail and is often the best alternative when time is limited. Products such as Pebeo Gedeo Siligum or Pinkysil can be purchased on Amazon or in some local craft stores.

2. Polymer Clay (Great Alternative)

Polymer clay can be purchased in most craft stores such as Spotlight or Eckersley's. It captures fine details beautifully but does require baking. I recommend using soft polymer clay like Sculpey or Fimo.

3. Air-Dry Clay (Last Resort)

Air-dry clay can be purchased in most craft stores such as Spotlight or Eckersley's. It is less reliable at capturing fine details and more fragile than polymer clay, but it can work in urgent cases.

Master moulds

Master Moulds are permanent silicone moulds created directly from your unique wax impression. They allow you to create multiple pieces of jewellery from a single wax print - perfect if you want matching jewellery for your family, or if you wish to create more pieces in the future.

We securely store your mould in our Sydney studio, allowing future pendants, rings, and keepsakes to be handcrafted at any time without ever needing to take another impression.

Can you create jewellery from existing clay or silicone impressions?

Yes, in most cases I can create your jewellery from existing clay or silicone fingerprint, paw print or nose print impressions provided by funeral homes, hospitals, veterinarians or pet crematoriums. Please get in touch before ordering so I can confirm your impression is suitable.

What if I don't have time to receive a Wax Kit?

If you don't have time to receive a Wax Kit, you can still capture your loved one's fingerprint, paw print or nose print using polymer clay, available from most craft stores, or silicone moulding putty, which can be purchased online. For more information on these alternative impression methods, please see the guide above or get in touch if you're unsure which option is best for your situation.

Can you create memorial jewellery for pets?

Yes, I create memorial jewellery from dog paw prints, dog nose prints and cat paw prints, preserving your pet's unique markings in solid sterling silver or 9ct gold. Existing clay or silicone impressions from your veterinarian or pet crematorium can often be used.

Can memorial jewellery be made from fingerprints?

Yes, our memorial fingerprint jewellery is handcrafted from a real fingerprint impression, preserving every detail of your loved one's touch through the traditional lost wax casting technique. If a wax impression isn't available, I can often work from existing clay or silicone impressions.

Can I order additional jewellery in the future?

Yes. If you purchase an Impression Print Master Mould, your original fingerprint or pet print impression will be securely preserved, allowing additional jewellery to be handcrafted in the future without taking another impression. This is a wonderful option for families who may wish to create matching keepsakes over time. Please note that an Impression Print Master Mould must be purchased at the same time as your jewellery, as it cannot be created once your original wax impression has been used during the casting process.

What metals is memorial jewellery available in?

Our memorial jewellery is handcrafted in solid sterling silver or solid 9ct yellow gold. If you're looking for a different gold colour or carat, please get in touch. I'd be happy to discuss your options and provide a personalised quote.

Can I personalise my memorial jewellery?

Absolutely! Memorial jewellery can be personalised with laser engraving, birthstones or your favourite gemstones, allowing you to create an even more meaningful keepsake that celebrates the life of someone special.

Is every memorial piece handmade?

Yes, every memorial jewellery piece is individually handcrafted by me, Lucy, in my Sydney studio using the traditional lost wax casting technique. Each piece is made with care, preserving the unique details of your loved one's fingerprint or pet's paw or nose print.
